Welcome to Novice Cook! My name is Rebecca, and as the youngest in my family of phenomenal cooks, I initially thought cooking was something they could do, but not me.
My mom is 100% Italian, and man, can she make anything taste good. My dad would even throw his hat in the ring every Saturday and make breakfasts that were so good, my friends would beg to sleep over on Fridays so they could enjoy in the Saturday ritual. My sister also has the gift, but I really didn’t think I did.
I loved watching them cook and learning from them, but I didn’t think I could do it myself. However, I found that I could! It all started with learning about spices and telling myself it’s okay to fail. I began to think that failing helped me learn what to do—not show me what I couldn’t do!
I found the joy of cooking!
I am a natural researcher and wanted to share all I learned about spices which grew to so much more. The more I learned, the more I cooked, and the more I cooked, the more I loved it. Now, I am excited to share my passion for cooking with all of you!
